Ruthie found this spring horse that had fallen apart, and wanted to do something fun with it. She showed her 20 year old son, who is an artist. and he said why don't you make a lamp out of it? So, she did.
Isn't this the coolest?
These are drawers that Ruthie took out of an old chest she had and simply repainted to create great bedroom side tables. They worked perfect. We have also seen them hung on walls to use as shelves.
Bradenton, Florida is a great place to shop because they have dozens of Habitat Restores and other Thrift Shops, most of them nonprofit. We found this three piece furniture at Restore for $70. We wanted the shabby chic look, so bought paint cloths at Harbor Freight for $24 ($8 each) and upholstered the cushions and spray painted the furniture for a fresh look. We had old leftover material and had Taya make us pillow covers. Ruth bought this rug at Salvation Army for $30 which was the nucleus of all of our colors for this flip.
